Currently playing: “There She Goes” – The La’s
Entering a new phase in life can be both exhilarating and intimidating—especially when you’re starting over in your 30s. This time often brings self-discovery, uncertainty, and new beginnings. As I write, I keep asking myself: “What the hell am I doing?” If you’re here, maybe you’re asking the same question. So here we are, navigating new beginnings together.
Why This Blog?
I’ll admit it—I feel like a total cliché. What does a middle-aged mom without a career or direction to go in do? She starts a blog. She starts a blog in search of clarity, confidence, and maybe a little connection. A place to sort through the mess, rediscover what lights her up, and figure out what’s next—one post at a time.
But beyond the stereotype, this blog is a much-needed outlet for me. Life lately has been overwhelming, confusing, hilarious, and downright surreal. I wanted a space to capture it all—the flabbergasting moments, the big questions, the small victories. I plan to share with raw honesty (with a side of humor) while still preserving a bit of privacy. After all, privacy is a rare commodity these days—especially when we’re willingly sharing our lives online.
Life in Transition
This past year brought big changes for my family—some challenging, most welcome, and all, in their own way, blessings. A cross-country move and career shifts continue to reshape our daily life, nudging us out of our comfort zone and into something new. One of the toughest choices I made was stepping away from a teaching job, that I mostly loved—surrounded by students who inspired me daily and who I truly believe will go on to do incredible things.
Letting go of that role left a space in my life—but also an open door. This blog is part of how I’m stepping through it, with curiosity, hope, and the belief that it’s never too late to start fresh.
Who This Blog Is For
First and foremost, it’s for me—a creative outlet and a space to process the chaos.
But it’s also for you—if you’re in a similar season of uncertainty.
If you’re not sure what your next path is, if you’re learning to embrace the unknown, or if you just want to feel a little less alone in the “what the hell am I doing?” moments—this space is for you too.
I don’t have all the answers. Honestly, I barely have the questions figured out. But that’s the whole point. This blog is about the journey—about growth, risk-taking, fear-facing, and hopefully, a little joy along the way.
Let’s Navigate This Together
In the grand scheme of things, “Moments of Midlife” is a reminder that it’s okay not to know what comes next. Whether you’re considering a career change, a personal reinvention, or simply trying to make it through the week—you’re not alone.
Here’s to embracing new beginnings, wherever they may lead.
